The selected individual will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and university service dependent on the chosen academic series. Associate/Full Professor, Regular/In Residence/ClinX (Director, Surgical Outcomes and Assessment Program)
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit a full-time academic position at the rank of either Associate or Full Professor in the Clinical X, In-Residence, or Ladder Rank series depending on experience and qualifications.
The selected candidate will be the Director of the Surgical Outcomes and Assessment Program that will work closely within the Department, and in related centers including the Center for Healthcare Policy and Research, the Clinical and Translational Sciences Center, and the Institute for Population Health Improvement, to advance scholarship and practice related to healthcare access, quality, costs, and delivery. The successful candidate will have substantial opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and will be expected to leverage the strengths of UC Davis in comparative effectiveness, implementation science, and population health, as well as the surgery Department’s core surgical clinical trials data coordination center.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate evidence of successful multidisciplinary funding, preferably NIH, AHRQ or other equivalent federal, peer-reviewed agencies. Research focus may be in health services, clinical epidemiology, comparative effectiveness, or surgical outcomes. Candidates must possess an MD, MPH or PhD. Board certified candidates are required to obtain a California Medical License before the appointment start date and will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service depending on academic series. The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit a full-time academic position at the rank of either Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Ladder Rank or In-Residence series depending on experience and qualifications.
The selected candidate will be expected, to work in collaboration with clinical faculty and other researchers at UC Davis, to develop basic and translational research projects related to solid abdominal organ transplantation, including authoring and co-authoring grant submissions to the NIH and other extramural funding organizations.
The selected candidate must be able to demonstrate evidence of experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: human inflammatory processes, including ischemia-reperfusion injury; basic or translational science related to solid organ transplantation; regenerative medicine and/or stem cell based therapies; biomarker discovery and validation (genomic, proteomic, and/or metabolomic) and human cellular immunology. Requirements for the position include an MD, PhD, or MPH in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related field. The candidate must be able to present a history of collaboration with clinicians and other scientists. This appointment is primarily a research and education appointment although the faculty member may be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service depending on academic series. Associate/Full Professor, Clinx/HSCP/In Residence (Academic Colorectal Surgeon and Chief)
The University of California, Davis Medical Center’s Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, is seeking a full-time colorectal surgeon at the University of California; Davis Medical Center who will serve as section Chief of the Colorectal Surgery Programs. The position is being recruited at the associate or full professor level within the Health Science, Clinical X, or In Residence series depending on qualifications. This individual will provide a strategic and operational plan that will lead to substantial growth of the colorectal programs and establish the program as the area leader for patients with both malignant and benign diseases of the colon and rectum. Responsibilities also include teaching and patient care; interest in clinical outcomes or translational research is encouraged. Qualified candidates must be board certified/eligible in colorectal surgery; have completed an approved colorectal fellowship; and have a CA Medical License before the start date. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in administration of clinical and educational programs, demonstrated leadership in colorectal cancer and/or IBD at the national level, expertise in minimally invasive surgery, and a strong interest in clinical education. The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation, at the University of California, Davis seeks to recruit a full-time Academic Transplant Surgeon at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in either the Clinical X, Health Science Clinical Professor or In-Residence series; depend upon experience and qualifications. The candidate will have a strong interest in kidney and pancreas transplantation. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join a diverse and progressive practice which has grown to become one of the nation’s busiest transplant programs. The clinical activities within the division include adult and pediatric transplantation with a strong focus on living donor transplantation and maximizing opportunities to utilize expanded criteria deceased donors. The individual would be incorporated into a practice that includes laparoscopic nephrectomy, dialysis access and a variety of general surgical procedures. The candidate must be board eligible or board certified in general surgery and possess a valid California Physician and Surgeon’s License before the appointment start date.
