Assistant/Associate/Full professor, In Residence/Clinical X/HSCP (Hepatobilary Pancreatic Surgeon)

The School of Medicine, Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis, Health System in Sacramento, California seeks to recruit a full-time Academic Surgeon specializing in Hepatobiliary Surgery at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the Clinical X, Health Science Clinical Professor or In-Residence series depending on experience and qualifications. Selected individuals will have completed a surgical oncology fellowship or hepatobiliary surgery fellowship and will join a practice in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the NCI-accredited UCD Cancer Center. The emphasis of this recruitment is for a “Hepatobiliary Specialist” though the opportunity will be provided to develop a disease-specific focus including surgery of the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas, or other areas of surgical oncology. The candidate must have a long-term goal of establishing a multi-disciplinary cancer practice, as well as providing expertise in benign hepatobiliary pancreatic disease.

Qualified candidates should have an excellent academic background; be Board Certified in general surgery, have a California medical license before the appointment start date and will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service depending on academic series. Assistant Professor, HSCP/Clinical X/In Residence (General Thoracic Surgeon)

Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Section of General Thoracic Surgery

The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Section of General Thoracic Surgery at the University of California, Davis seeks to recruit a full-time, academic general thoracic surgery faculty who is or will be a recent graduate of an ACGME accredited thoracic surgery residency. The academic rank will be at the assistant professor level within the Health Science, Clinical X, or In Residence series depending on qualifications. The candidate should have a strong interest and expertise in thoracic oncology and minimally invasive thoracic surgery (VATS and/or Robotics) and esophageal surgery. The selected individual will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service. Dependent on the chosen academic series, the individual will be expected to develop a research focus in Health Services / Outcomes Research, Clinical Research, Translational Research, or equivalent academic endeavor. The Section of General Thoracic Surgery at the UC Davis Medical Center is a nationally recognized program that offers the top level of care for patients with thoracic disease. We provide expansive services for the surgical treatment of non-cardiac, benign and malignant disease of the chest, including the lungs, esophagus, chest wall, airway, mediastinum and diaphragm. In addition, the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery educates trainees as part of two training residencies for ABTS eligibility: 1) Independent 2-year Pathway, and 2) Integrated 6-year Pathway.

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, In Residence/Clinical X or HSCP (Comprehensive Breast Surgeon)

The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit an outstanding Surgery Leader to lead our Comprehensive Breast Care Program within the UC Davis Cancer Center.  This will be a full-time academic position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the In-Residence, Clinical X, or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series depending on experience and qualifications.

The selected candidate will be the Chief of the Section of Breast Surgery and will work closely within the Division of Surgical Oncology and broadly within the UC Davis NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The successful candidate will have substantial opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and will be expected to leverage the strengths of UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center in translational research, including the development and implementation of clinical trials. The successful candidate will assume the role of leader of the Breast Program, spanning multiple departments within the UC Davis School of Medicine. Qualified candidates must have an excellent academic background with prior leadership experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams of investigators.

Required qualifications also include the completion of an approved Breast fellowship or Surgical Oncology fellowship. The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis; School of Medicine seeks to recruit one or more full-time academic positions at the rank(s) of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in the Health Science Clinical, Clinical X, In-Residence, or Ladder Rank series depending on experience and qualifications.  Exceptional candidates will be considered for Division Chief of Pediatric Surgery.

Associate/Full Professor, Clinx/HSCP/In Residence (Academic Colorectal Surgeon and Chief)

The University of California, Davis Medical Center’s Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, is seeking a full-time colorectal surgeon at the University of California; Davis Medical Center who will serve as section Chief of the Colorectal Surgery Programs.  The position is being recruited at the associate or full professor level within the Health Science, Clinical X, or In Residence series depending on qualifications.  This individual will provide a strategic and operational plan that will lead to substantial growth of the colorectal programs and establish the program as the area leader for patients with both malignant and benign diseases of the colon and rectum. Responsibilities also include teaching and patient care; interest in clinical outcomes or translational research is encouraged.  Qualified candidates must be board certified/eligible in colorectal surgery; have completed an approved colorectal fellowship; and have a CA Medical License before the start date.  Preferred qualifications include prior experience in administration of clinical and educational programs, demonstrated leadership in colorectal cancer and/or IBD at the national level, expertise in minimally invasive surgery, and a strong interest in clinical education.
