Obstetrics and Gynecology Open Positions

Assistant Professor, HSCP series (Academic Generalist)

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health System seeks to recruit two full-time Academic Generalist Obstetrician/Gynecologists. The positions will be recruited at the Assistant level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications. Selected individuals will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service.

Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O., have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and have experience in general Ob/Gyn. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Candidates must have or be able to obtain a CA Medical License. Incumbents will be responsible for direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology as part of an academic generalist group within the Department, the University Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates (UOGA) group currently consists of 13 faculty members. Clinical responsibilities will also include a daytime laborist on labor and delivery in rotation with other members of UOGA (this is in addition to a full-time laborist already working on labor and delivery), obstetric night call in–house (with additional compensation) and at-home gynecology call in rotation with the combined  division  of  Gynecologic  Specialties  and  UOGA.  Candidates  will  be  expected  to directly work with residents and medical students in labor and delivery, the operating room and the inpatient wards for any admitted patients as the attending physician.  Additional work within the resident or medical student curriculum is highly encouraged, when possible. The positions will require frequent committee work and collaboration within the University system.

Associate/Full Professor, Regular/Clinical X/HSCP series (Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology)


The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health System seeks to recruit a full-time Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology. The position will be recruited at the Associate or Full Professor rank in the Regular, Clinical X or HSCP series based on experience and qualifications.


Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years Post Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship experience. Applicants must have completed fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology. Applicant must be Board Certified in Gynecologic Oncology and General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Applicants must possess an MD or DO from an accredited medical school and have or be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. Applicant must have training and experience in research specific to women’s cancers. Applicant must have experience with training fellows, residents and medical students. Ability to perform minimally invasive gynecologic surgery procedures is preferred. Applicant is preferred to have research experience with active research programs.


Chosen candidate will be appointed as the Division Chief of Gynecologic Oncology and will be responsible for Gynecologic Oncology outpatient care and surgery with resident oversight. Chosen candidate will have direct involvement with students and residents in core curriculum and clinical teaching. Chosen candidate will have the potential for leadership positions within the Department and/or Health System.
