Associate/Full Professor , Regular/Clin X (Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine)

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health System seeks to recruit a full-time, academic Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine. The position will be recruited at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Regular or Clinical X series based on experience and qualifications. Selected individuals will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service, including such activities with the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellows.
Candidate must possess an MD or MD, PhD, have completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine, be Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine and have the ability to provide clinical care that specializes in high risk care for obstetric patients. Individuals with specialized interests in prenatal diagnosis or fellowship program leadership are preferred. The candidate will have the potential to be an integral part of Health System leadership during the growth of new innovative programs in neonatal intensive care and fetal intervention. Candidate will be responsible for teaching students, residents and fellows including non-MFM fellows as a research resource within the department. Research duties will include basic science and/or clinical research that meet the goals of the department. University service on committees and tasks force as assigned. The candidate will be hired as the Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine. The candidate will be expected to provide clinical care and basic research to the MFM division. The division currently has individuals who are highly interested in clinical care and a junior faculty on a research path. This candidate is expected to provide mentorship and leadership within clinical and research areas.
Candidate must possess an MD or MD, PhD, completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine and be Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine. The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Candidate must be able to adhere to policies and procedures. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.

Assistant Professor, HSCP (Family Planning Specialist)

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Healfth Sfoystem seeks to recruit a full-time, academic Family Planning Specialist. The position will be recruited at the Assistant Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications.

Applicants must have clinical carfoe experience specializing in family planning with formal research training through a Fellowship, MPH, PhD or similar degree. Applicants must demonstrate publications focusing on family planning appropriate in number for expected level of appointment and have demonstrated program leadership and development.

Chosen candidate will be responsible for general gynecology and family planning, including provision of care at Women’s Health Specialists; oversight of medical students, residents and fellows for issues related to general gynecology and family planning; participation in a family planning research program to include federal, industry and foundation funding. Candidate will be required to provide mentorship as part of a formal residency and fellowship training program in family planning.

Applicants must possess an MD from an accredited medical school and have or be eligible to obtain a California Medical License. The candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Applicants must have the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment, and be able to adhere to policies and procedures. Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and qualifications.

The position will be recruited at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications.

Assistant/Associate Professor , Clin X/HSCP (Maternal Fetal Medicine)

The University of California, Davis Health System, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine is recruiting for a full-time academic position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications. The primary responsibility will be to function as a faculty member in the Department, serve as a perinatologist on the Maternal Fetal Medicine services involved in inpatient and outpatient care, teaching and may include research.

Applicants must meet the following requirements: MD or MD, PhD; successful completion of residency training in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Board eligibility/certification in obstetrics and gynecology and specialty Board eligibility/certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine; demonstrate competence in prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound and genetics and demonstrate clinical skills and judgment, teaching effectiveness and proficiency in clinical investigation.  Teaching and awards should be commensurate with experience. Demonstrated experience in organizing, performing and directing quality research in the area of Maternal Fetal Medicine. Applicants must should a willingness and ability to work on committees to further the level of care provided within the Department

Responsibilities of this position include management of patients with high-risk obstetric pregnancy, both inpatient and outpatient; surgery and procedures related to high-risk obstetrics and general obstetrics; teaching residents and medical students the principles of obstetrics, with emphasis on the area of high-risk obstetrics and organizing, performing and directing quality research in the area of Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Senior Researcher/Clinician - Researcher

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health System seeks to recruit a full-time Senior Researcher/Clinician - Researcher. The position will be recruited at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Professor or Clinical X series based on experience and qualifications. Selected individuals will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service.

Requirements: Candidate must possess a PhD or an M.D. or an M.D., Ph.D. degree; sufficient experience in teaching of medical students and/or post-doctoral students in line with academic level; advanced research training and understanding, at least 20 publications demonstrating an interest in an academic research career; have a past history of independent research funding; leadership ability to be a mentor for junior researchers in the department

Although not limiting, preferred areas of expertise/interest include oncofertility, reproductive primate research, genomics, regenerative medicine and obstetrics. Clinical care is not required, however if physician scientist is a clinician, appropriate care will be determined based on specialty, level of training and time commitment to excellence. Proven experience with direct involvement with students and residents in core curriculum and clinical teaching. Applicants are preferred to have at least 5 years research experience with active research programs. Potential for leadership positions within the division, department and/or Health System must be acceptable to the applicant. Demonstration of prior leadership for at least 2 years is preferred.

Assistant Professor, HSCP (Academic Generalist)

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis Health System seeks to recruit a full-time academic faculty member. The position will be recruited at the Assistant Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series based on experience and qualifications. Selected individuals will be expected to participate in clinical care, teaching, research and university service.

Candidate must possess an M.D., have completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and have experience in general Ob/Gyn. Incumbent will be responsible for direct patient care in general obstetrics and gynecology as part of an academic generalist group (University Women’s Health [UWH]) within the Department. The UWH group currently consists of 6 faculty members.

Clinical responsibilities will also include a daytime laborist on labor and delivery in rotation with other members of UWH (this is in addition to a full-time laborist already working on labor and delivery), obstetric night call in–house (with additional compensation) and at-home gynecology call in rotation with the combined division of Gynecologic Specialties division and UWH. The candidate will be expected to directly work with residents and medical students in labor and delivery, the operating room and the inpatient wards for any admitted patients as the attending physician.  Additional work within the resident or medical student curriculum is highly encouraged, when possible. The position will require frequent committee work and collaboration within the University system.
