Neurological Surgery Open Positions
Assistant/Associate Professor, In Residence
UCD School of Medicine, Department of Neurological Surgery is recruiting a full time Assistant or Associate Professor, In Residence. Requirements include a Ph.D. or M.D. in biomedical engineering, biomechanics, orthopedics or a related field, with a research emphasis in intervertebral disc injury and degeneration, as well as disk replacement and regeneration of injured disks. The candidate should have broad experience in tissue regeneration and repair, including research using stem cells and trophic factors in in vivo and in vitro models of disk injury and replacement. The position will involve collaborative research with the Institute for Regenerative Cures, the UC Davis Stem Cell Program and the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
Appointees in this series are expected to engage in independent research with extramural support, and participate in teaching activities in the classroom and/or laboratory. University service and the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment also required.
